Independent Living Program
In 2008, I started working with a small group of very capable women who were in the process of creating an independent life for themselves. We cooked dinner together and read books and did a Bible study while building friendships with each other. Each of them has their own story and their own goals. One had already moved out, while others moved into their apartment during the time we spent together. Another found lots of benefit from living at home and working in the community. All have become contributing members to their communities. We want to share our learning with you. As you grow into your independence, there is much to learn and wisdom to be developed. Perhaps you can learn from our experiences. We have included tips for your parents as they help you develop while you are at home so that when the actual move out time comes, you will have skills and organizational tools that will make it easier for you to transition into that first apartment.
We continue to play activities together. This summer we are touring the Lighthouses on the Oregon Coast and visiting wineries in Southern Oregon. We have been to the Chris Tomlin Concert and looking at other activities for the summer. Here are some pictures from previous activities.
